Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University organized the Consultation Meeting on Vocational Education Collaboration for Long-Term Care Students from Thailand

On 22 June 2026, the Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University, hosted a consultation meeting entitled “Vocational Education Collaboration Construction Project to Secure International Students for Long-Term Care from Thailand” at Room 1033, 10th Floor, Piyachart Building, Thammasat University (Rangsit Campus).

The meeting was led by Prof. Dr. Takeo Ogawa, Director of the Research/Development and Innovation Center for Vocational Education and Training (VET/RDI Center), Keishin Gakuen, Japan. The session was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kaysorn Sumpowthong, Chair of the Center for International Collaboration in Innovative Services for Aging Society (CICISA), Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University.

Representatives from Keishin Gakuen included Prof. Katsuhiko Kikuchi, Deputy Director of the VET/RDI Center, and Mr. Hideki Sawada. They were welcomed by Asst. Prof. Pol. Maj. Dr. Katiya Ivanovitch, Deputy Dean for Administration and International Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sayambhu Saita, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Public Health (Lampang Campus).

The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations in vocational education and training for long-term care. Discussions focused on the development of educational pathways, pre-departure preparation, Japanese language training, and career opportunities for Thai students interested in pursuing studies and professional careers in the long-term care sector in Japan.
The proposed collaboration aims to strengthen academic and professional networks between Thailand and Japan while supporting the development of a skilled workforce capable of addressing the growing demands of aging societies in both countries. The initiative also aligns with ongoing efforts to promote international education, workforce mobility, and sustainable human resource development in the field of long-term care.
